H. Wallace Goddard, Ph.D., C.F.L.E.
Dr. H. Wallace (Wally) Goddard serves as an Extension Family Life Specialist for the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service. He develops programs on parenting, marriage, youth development, and family relations.
Dr. Goddard served as an Extension Specialist at Auburn University in Alabama for six years. During that time he studied teen behavior, developed a widely-used parenting program, participated with a national team to develop a model of parent education, and created a respected youth development program called The Great Self Mystery.
Wally took leave from Auburn University to help Stephen Covey write “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families.” He returned to work as an Extension Specialist, at the University of Arkansas Extension Service. He has worked with public television to develop a series entitled Guiding Children Successfully that has aired all over the United States. He worked with Haim Ginott’s widow to revise the classic parenting book, Between Parent and Child, on which this program is based.
Wally and his wife, Nancy, have three adult children, three grandsons, and have cared for twenty foster children over the years.
